- Toku: Oliver, son of archeologists, getting a lot of secondhand history from the history channel and Indiana Jones. His monster is Ankh (Crazon), a hypnotic and megalomaniac Egyptian guardian
- Eli: Tristan, smooth talker who picked up a lot of tricks from his old conman grandpa. His monster is Red (Toku) a pendant that turns into a giant metallic dragon, or power armor for his antiheroic kid
- Crazon: Jack, a well-meaning kid people think is related to David Bowie. Way into the “Pizza” chain of movies by John Carpenter, especially after his monster Savy Jean (Eli) emerged from his ancient copy of it as his sassy goblin pirate captain
- Max: Sam, the hip daughter of an A-list celebrity, picked up in Oz. Does whatever she feels like, since she’s (1) not that bright (2) gives no fucks because she’s stupid rich (and 3) gives no fucks because she’s protected by Cranium, the trippy, hyperactive fox that literally lives in her head
