Gobblin’ Beta Test: Kings of the Rings

2nd playtest of Gobblin’, my homebrew set in a post-apocolypse Earth where goblins were recently banished by the more advanced races. Three particular outcasts are drafted into a supposedly legendary quest, causing mayhem along the way for their own party and everyone they find on the way

Cast:
Eli: Kaczka. The jaded, grouchy healer. Constantly drinking, judging you, or stealing your shit.
Rocheford: Bukkitz. Big-dreaming tinker who hopes to become an adventurer like his heroes in his treasured cyberpunk novels. Wears a trashcan with wires attached to it. To make it cyber.
Chris: Nekd chris/unitomega. Generally fearless lunatic with the dress and mannerisms of Hunter S. Thompson

MaOCT – Young Monsters

a few months back, a few of us got together and started up a teen superteam game in the spirit of the Pop Music Changes Everything game (Young Justice with weird kids). Haven’t played in a long time due to schedule whackiness, but we managed to edit up some of the episodes. #1 for ya down there

Players: characters
Josh: Beatrix. a clever girl who got out of a terminal disease by learning to bind and command demons into battle
Callum: Felix “The Phoenix.” Excitably drama club kid, also saved from a terminal disease by a pact with Ra the sun god, who can turn him into a firey birdman
Claes: Emily “The Beast.” A werehyena and rebellious tough girl
Eli: Bones. Indifferent gambler, won the magical dice of The Lady herself, causing random chaos to effect his foes based on their results.
Alex: Raphael “Raspiel.” Cursed to be the antichrist, but blessed and guarded by an angel. Still a good-natured kid, despite his cultist parents.
Travis: Chloe “The Plant.” Kooky creepy girl, big on playing with movie makeup and special affects for no reason. Is slightly green due to her questionable bond to a haunted marsh and her power to talk to plants.
Sean: DM/Kenny “Creepy Crawly.” Football jock who can turn into a swarm of insects as a defense mechanism
Me: Tina “Turtle Power.” Hyper half-Asian girl trained in Inhuman martial arts by horrifically mutated radioactive turtles.
Me, take 2: Cassie “Queen Coffin.” Popular girl and former cheerleader, having to drop out to hide the fact that she’s a recently dead zombie. Will KILL you if you tell anyone!

I didn’t show up until parts 2 and 3, and Sean ran this one, so our characters don’t appear at first. There’s some mention of them early on though, though, so listed them to avoid confusion. I also couldn’t make up my mind for ages on my final character, to test ran each of them in the two sessions I was in

Pregame Chatter

Little Fears: Small Miracles Hospital

officially my attempt to create and run a horror game, rather than my usual humor and action. four kids in for overnight at a hospital. Something knows that the hospital is a prime target and the kids get mixed up in it, like it or not.

Starring!
Max as Gabe “Tiger”: paranoid kid who listened too much to his viet nam grandpa
Travis as Aronessa: a runaway forced against her will to stay after an accident
Freepork as Leslie: wannabe superhero forced to whisper with his tonsils taken out
Librarydan as Dave: smart young kid with an amulet to protect him from evil (has to leave part way through)

Gobblin’ Alpha Playtest

first run of a homebrew game I’m working on, fine tuning and getting more feedback before considering anything like a ransom or kickstarter.

Gobblin’ is a game/setting where the entirity of the goblin race was banished to post-apocalyptic earth and love it there. Lots of dead humans carrying food and explosives, weird animals and robots to fight, eat, and run from, and more free loot that you could shake another goblin at. Players control a band of goblins out to loot and plunder the mostly defenseless ruined Earth.
It kind of falls somewhere between Little Fears, Futurama, and Fallout. As I hope you’ll see below!

tonight’s whacky party:
Librarydan as Kaczka, the cynical healer who threatens others with his “healing” stick
Sean as Dimchok, meat head of the Headroc clan, idealizing the headbutt as the ultimate strategy
Alex as Garf (and Bourff), bossy loudmouth with a twin brother/talking tumor
Trollflayer as Long Bonov, a poser-biker who rides around on his giant mutant pig, Bacon
Freepork as Hyigutchyls, a mad tinker that talks to his Grease singing plastic fish for advise

Gamma World (Part 2) – New Toronto!

for those unaware, Gamma World is a fairly old setting that got revamped by Wizards a few years back. The Big Mistake happened some time before our setting, a science experiment gone wrong that made the multiverse crash into itself, thus causing every universe to exist simultaneously on the same plane. It did not go well.
It got based on DnD 4e, though you pick out a bunch of the rules and instead of classes, you roll twice on a chart of origins. That’s what your character is and does. Go with it from there, long as those two things are involved. People have rolled hivemind swarms of kitten, time-traveling yetis, and demigod dinosaurs.

Our Party:
-a radioactive robot who steals human flesh to become more human
-a gentleman duelist octopus-mushroom
-a dead serious doppleganger who can unmake matter at will
-a hideous half spider, half hawk in a gas mask
-a giant roach with a terminal spore-based disease

A two-parter, possibly more to come. But here’s our session one, where the party happens upon a junkyard of a town being harassed by the local toughs. Lots of map-discussion cut out, so a bit short, and big on some bizarre combat.
